Jamah's Nanny Bag: The dual use bag for mom and dad

Jamah1 Like just about everything else in their lives, when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie go shopping -- they go all out. The clan that blossomed from a family of two to a family of eight in just three short years no doubt knows what it means to buy in bulk, and that's exactly what they did when they recently placed an order with Jamah.  Owner Nancy Gale was all-too happy to oblige the Jolie-Pitt's request for seven -- that's right, seven -- bags from her collection, including The Messenger, which Brad sported at the Cannes Film Festival in May.  If you like the look, you're going to love The Nanny -- It's a variation of The Messenger, only in the form of a dedicated (unisex!) diaper bag that is guaranteed to leave tongues wagging across the globe.

Update: Go Gaga goes live!

Gaga1Update:  Much has changed since CBB guest reviewer Michelle D. posted the below review of the Go Gaga Slide tote bag, and we thought you should know!  First and foremost, Go Gaga is now a fully operational website -- You can purchase your Slide directly from owner Jill Cartwright at www.gogagalife.com.  The Slide currently comes available in four colors:  Copper, Black, Olive and Cayenne, but there is more to come.  Jill tells us that Go Gaga will be adding new fabrics, colors and two new styles of bags in the fall.

Carrying a baby on one hip and trying to keep a diaper bag balanced on your shoulder is no small task but with the Slide it's easy, thanks to an innovative ergonomic strap which distributes weight evenly across your back.  My husband loves that he can fit his Nalgene bottle in the bag and a sippy for our son, and the unisex styling means that -- like Michelle's husband -- he can carry the Slide without feeling self conscious.  Celebrity moms like Jenna Elfman and Samantha Harris are fans, having recently sent Jill thank-you notes after receiving the Slide in their Distinctive Assets Mothers Day Gift Baskets, and they're not alone:  Fit Pregnancy recently named the Slide one of the six best diaper bags on the market.

Roman Savell Resort Tote: The bigger the better

Romansavellresorttote_2 I love a big bag.  I know it's not cool to admit in this era of wristlets and diaper clutches, but a big bag gives me a sense of security that a smaller bag just can't.  I like knowing that if I need to whip out a board book for a quick distraction, it's in there.  If I need a back-up outfit for a back-up outfit, it's in there.  Maracas for an impromptu toddler jam session?  You guessed it.  It's in there.  So you can imagine my excitement when I received the Roman Savell Resort Tote.  If you're a big bag-lover like me, this bag will be your biggest dream come true.

Baby Sparewear: Saving you, and celebrity moms too

Babysparewear It happens to the best babies. The public blowout, the sudden spit up, the mashed potato mess. And though you try and prepare yourself for the inevitable, it's easy to get caught out without a change of clothes. Even veteran diaper bag packers such as myself have been known to dress their poor soiled babies in little more than a paper napkin and rush home for a change. For shame!  The problem I had in the past was not having a designated disaster preparedness kit like the one that Baby Sparewear so excellently puts together. Sure I have been known to toss an extra tee in the bag, but then my husband uses it and I forget to check when I head out on the next trip.  We all know this story has a baby wearing a paper napkin at the end, right? And do you like how I blamed my husband?

Reese Li Bags: Practical, sophisticated and chic

Reeselilexington You spend your days with kids. Food is flung. Drinks are spilled. Diapers are changed. Lots and lots of diapers. And you are prepared, organized, and ready for action. Plus, your bag always looks great. Because it can be wiped clean. It's all about the bag. Having the right one for the job, is the key.

Right now I am using and loving this eminently wipeable Lexington baby bag from Reese Li, in the Black Geo pattern ($150). It's fresh, simple, fabulously mod and it looks great no matter what my darling offspring fling at (or spill on) it. It's also incredibly organized -- a pocket lover's dream come true!

Roman Savell Bravo Bag: Indulge, you've earned it!

Bravobag Before I had children, I admit, the allure of a designer diaper bag was lost on me. But then I became a mom.  Twice!  Don't get me wrong, I went through the whole "I live in my sweatsuit and I lost my makeup bag six months ago and haircuts are overrated anyway" phase.  But then I emerged from the mom fog and decided that I wanted to be 'me' again.  Part of becoming me again meant finding a way to care for my kids and meet their needs without sacrificing my own needs and interests in the process.  And therein begins my love affair with the designer diaper bag.

Enter Roman Savell, and its Bravo bag.  Crafted of lambskin, the Bravo is the ultimate in diaper bag luxury, but still packs so many great, functional features that it's far from just another pretty face.  The Bravo makes me feel like 'me' again -- only way hotter, and way cooler, than I ever was before.

Ju-Ju Be's BeRightBack: I'm sweet on this backpack diaper bag

Berightback_groovygardenWith spring definitely in bloom, my children and I are outside constantly -- and our new Ju-Ju-Be BeRightBack backpack ($158) has been right along with us. With a baby and a toddler, I have to tote a lot of stuff. When we are in active mode (ie. park, museum, zoo), a diaper backpack is a better choice.  It's much easier to wear while running around after my toddler (with a baby strapped to my front). Organization has always been tough for me, but with all the great places to stash our stuff, Ju-Ju-Be's fancy-yet-functional BeRightBack backpack has been a dream come true. Ju-Ju-Be calls it "the ultimate hybrid -- a traditional full featured ergonomic backpack, with details and the form of a beautiful fashion bag and with all of Ju-Ju-Be's standard features included." Some of the standard features of Ju-Ju-Be's bags include: Teflon® coated exterior fabric, a brightly-colored satin waterproof lining with a special antimicrobial treatment to kill germs, mildew, fungus and bacteria -- which will also help you find your stuff easier, because of the lighter lining, plus a comfy memory foam changing pad.

Celebrity fans of Ju-Ju-Be's diaper bags are Katie Holmes, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Garner, Britney Spears and Matt Damon (he was gifted with the JJB Dad Bag when daughter Isabella was a baby).

I love the fun and flippant "Groovy Garden" pattern on this backpack. The light teal, with pink and orange mod flowers really brings spring to life (and will also work all year round). The print was inspired by a design submitted by one of their "pink ladies" -- from the Pink Room on their site, where real moms congregate to share their opinions with the company's designers, and also to win a bag of their choice EACH WEEK when they reply to the weekly topic (some are serious, some silly.)   Click here to read Missy's recent review of the BeTween bag (which the "pink ladies" also helped by giving feedback on the features they wanted for this bag).

Lexie Barnes Darling Diaper Bag: Hip to be square

Darlingdiablo Just when I think that the diaper bag market has exhausted itself, that the options for a diaper bag are so limited that everything has been done -- at least once, if not twice -- before, I stumbled upon Lexie Barnes. This New England-based designer and mom of four boys brings over a decade of experience in the performing arts to her collection, and there's no doubt about it: these bags are high on the drama quotient.  We recently tested the Darling bag ($110) in Diablo, a new print for spring/summer 2008, and its never been quite so hip to be square.

Outside Baby: Get outside, and stay there!

Coolerbackpack Recently I had one of those totally vivid, totally surreal 'why didn't I think of that?' moments, as I tested the Cooler Backpack by Outside Baby.  You know the feeling.  Empty.  Bitter.  But whatever self-loathing I might have been feeling over having not been the person to come up with the idea behind the backpack -- which combines all the elements of a diaper bag with a built-in cooler -- was tempered by my downright glee over getting to use the backpack in the first place.  Celebrity moms like Christy Turlington, a fan of Outside Baby and mom to 4 1/2-year-old Grace and 2-year-old Finn, know that its hard to stay bitter when you're toting a bag like this!

Ju-Ju-Be BeTween: What goldilocks would carry if she were a mom

Between So you're heading out for a quick trip to the park with your newly-potty trained toddler.  She hasn't had an accident in a week and you're both feeling really good about things staying that way.  You don't need to bring a stack of diapers and wipes, nor do you need a cache of bottles and baby food.  Just a change of clothes, a sippy and some snacks.  Therein lies the problem:  You're packing too much to fit in a diaper clutch, but too little for your standard diaper bag.  Ju-Ju-Be has the answer!  The company that brought you the PackaBe and the BeSpicy has added a new bag to its arsenal:  The BeTween.

We recently tested the BeTween in the 'Groovy Garden' pattern (shown at left), and as advertised, its the perfect bag for those outings where you need to bring some things, just not everything

Dante Beatrix: Politically correct and fabulous

Dantebeatrixpeacetote I'm an opinionated person -- go figure -- and when I saw Marcia Cross toting her Dante Beatrix Peace Stroller Tote, I HAD to have one. I was thrilled to find that this particular design comes in a choice of green or silver details. And rest assured, that if political statements aren't your thing they have tons of other super-cute prints to choose from!

I couldn't love this bag more if I tried, seriously! It's the perfect toddler tote and packs everything up beautifully. It has plenty of pockets and places to store things and the two side pockets hold sippy cups as well as water bottles nicely.

DadGear Recycled Billboard Series Backpack: Hold it right there!

Download The other day, we took our two kids to an aviation museum in Long Island.  I knew my husband and I would be chasing our toddler and I would be wearing the baby - so a backpack diaper bag would be the best thing to tote. DadGear had just sent me one of their Recycled Billboard Series Backpacks to review, so I broke it out!  These recycled billboard bags are one of a kind. How cool is that?

At first glance, DadGear's backpack looks like any other regular backpack (except for the funky design). Start unzipping the many pockets and you'll find out why it will work so well as a diaper bag! There are pockets for everything you could possibly need -- plus the bottom pocket holds their patented quick access wipes case. Wonderful for when you really, really need a baby wipe (and we've all been in that position).

Dennis Quaid and Fred Savage are among the celebrity fans of this GREAT brand.

Storksak: Superstardom awaits you

Elizabeth You're never going to confuse me with Angelina Jolie.  I don't circle the globe with the 'Sexiest Man Alive,' know how to pilot a plane, work as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations, donate millions of dollars to charity, or even have millions of dollars to begin with -- But I digress.  I'm just a relatively average mom, living a relatively average existence with my dorky (but cute!) math teacher husband and our two little boys.  Recently, however, I got just the briefest of glimpses into what it must be like to be Angelina.  On a beautiful, warm spring day some girlfriends and I went to brunch in the city with our kids and on my arm was none other than -- no, not Brad Pitt -- the new Elizabeth diaper bag, in chalk, from Storksak.  Instant superstardom ensued.  At least amongst the moms in attendance.

The brand that Angelina and Brad have both used and loved recently released several new styles for spring/summer 2008 and they're practically guaranteed to make you feel like a superstar, too.

Polka Dot Frogs: A fresh take on a new favorite

Polkadotfrogs Looking for a thoughtful gift for a girlfriend expecting her second (or third, or fourth) child?  Try a burp cloth/diaper clutch set from Polka Dot Frogs, and give her a little something for baby and for solo outings with the new big brother or sister.  Owner Stacy Lang, a mother of three, says she started Polka Dot Frogs both as a way to showcase her love of beautiful fabrics and as a way to share with others a more simplified approach to being out and about with baby. Two weeks ago we received the gift set in lime, and I'm definitely impressed with Stacy's products.

OiOi: Resistance is futile

Giraffe_tote If you're even a casual observer of the diaper bag market, then you know that OiOi -- the Australian baby bag designer -- is everywhere as of late, popping up in boutiques across the country.  And if OiOi is going to be such a readily available option for all the expectant (and existing!) mamas out there, we thought it was time to give them a proper review.  I'm happy to report that the verdict is in, and these bags are -- in the words of OiOi customer Cate Blanchett -- "a godsend." It's no wonder vendors are stocking their shelves with OiOi; The only question is, why don't you have one in your diaper bag arsenal right now?

Nunzia Design: Working moms rejoice!

Brittany The evolution of the diaper bag never ceases to amaze me. When I was pregnant for the first time five short years ago, it seemed like my only options were a) puffy plastic pastel backpack or b) puffy plastic pastel messenger bag.  What really frustrated me about having such limited choices was the fact that I was a working mom, and needed a diaper bag that didn't clash so badly with my work attire.  What I needed was a bag with a little sophistication, a little polish -- What I needed was Nunzia Design.

La Bella Ragazza: Cuddle up to this diaper bag

7899 La Bella Ragazza -- whose motto is "every girl is beautiful" -- has some super-stylish diaper bags. With many fun fabrics like animal prints (faux fur, of course), they can also double as travel bags.

We recently reviewed the messenger style Bimba Bag  in "Blonde Leopard" ($175). This bag is perfect for carrying everything you need for baby (and it's also soft and snuggly).

Amy Michelle: So glad for my Gladiola

Gladiola In 2003, two girlfriends -- Amy and Michelle -- found themselves discussing diaper bags, and why it's so difficult to find one that doesn't sacrifice style for substance. From that conversation a company was born: The aptly named Amy Michelle. Four years later, the company offers up a diaper bag for just about every conceivable taste, as evidenced by the celebrity moms they've gifted -- Angelina Jolie, Marcia Cross, Naomi Watts, Jillian Dempsey, and others. Amy Michelle is doing its best to give these moms, and moms everywhere, what may have previously eluded them -- the best of both worlds.

We recently tested the Gladiola Baby Bag Tote ($135) in black patent leather with rich red lining.  It's part of Amy Michelle's 'Chic Baby Bag' line, and I have to say, I'm in love! The bag is sophisticated but sassy; When I'm carrying it, I find myself with a little extra bounce in my step for sure. I was worried that the patent leather would be too flashy next to my normal 'mom' attire but it hasn't been at all; The bag looks as great with a pair of jeans and flats while out running errands as it does with something a little fancier.  The interior fabric is a dramatic contrast to the bag's exterior; I love the way the rich red lining pops against the black patent leather, and the red is just bright enough that you can find whatever it is you need inside the bag with ease.

Pineapple Cove Baby: Add a little glamour to your diaper changes

Blue_antique_quilt An on-the-go diaper change, for obvious reasons, should be as simple as possible. But there's no unspoken rule that it needs to take place on a drab piece of nondescript vinyl, either. In an attempt to balance the need for simplicity with a woman's need for style, Deborah Stepler launched Pineapple Cove Baby two years ago, and has since gifted celebrity moms like Melissa Joan Hart, Holly Robinson Peete and Gwen Stefani with items from her upscale 'Simple Change Diapering Collection.' Consisting of an infant change pad, a diaper wallet and a toddler change pad -- each of which are available in a selection of 8 fabric/trim combinations -- Pineapple Cove's products add a glamorous touch to the decidedly non-glamorous practice of changing a diaper.

Why I bought my ... Not Rational bag

Nr_hansel_fab_2 By the time I had my third child, I'd had it with the diaper bag. For over a decade I'd been lugging a bag around that wasn't about me. It was a diaper bag. A poop sack. A bag who's very existence was an homage to refuse. A humble reality that seemed hard to transcend.

What kind of bag would I carry if I did not have kids? Or if money were no issue? In my chronically sleep deprived state I  wasn't even sure anymore. And then, almost by accident, I discovered the Not Rational Hansel/Fab Bag ($400).

Lilly Gold: Where products pull double (and triple!) duty

Logo I am usually skeptical of products that try to be everything to everyone.  It's just been my personal experience that the product turns out to be much better at being one thing over the other, and at that point, why not just get two different products and have both jobs done equally well?  When I was asked to review two offerings from Lilly Gold -- their Nap-Sac and the LillyPad -- I have to admit, my inner alarm began to sound.  Both products have multiple intended uses, and I was prepared to be disappointed, but I was happily proven quite wrong.

Bumble Collection's Jessica Messenger Backpack: The buzz is in the bag

Jessicafruityfloralsfront_zoomMoms are a big fan of the Jessica Messenger Backpack Diaper Bag by Bumble Collection's Bumble Bags line. They are cute, very functional and can be worn several different ways - what's not to love? Designed by Jennie Lynn Johanson, celebs like Jason Priestly, Rena Sofer, Heidi Klum, Tori Spelling and Samantha Harris are all fans of these head-turning diaper bags and accessories.

We tested out the Jessica in the Fruity Florals print (pictured) right before baby Allegra was born. My two year old didn't require so many "baby" items, but we easily packed a lot. We had a change of clothes, diapers, wipes, snacks, books and most importantly - toys! This was my first "pink" diaper bag and I loved how beautiful it was. A big plus for me was that this bag is roomy. As someone who likes variety, I was thrilled there are 4 ways to wear this bag. You can sling it over your shoulder, convert it into a backpack, wear it across your chest or attach it to your stroller (stroller clips are included).

When we tested it,  I was so pregnant at the time that my favorite way to wear the bag was to attach it to my stroller. But, when we had to park the stroller and go on foot, the backpack feature was great for chasing around a toddler! My husband winced at the girly print, but he liked the backpack conversion feature -- and was soon wearing it.

Features:

  • Water Resistant & Stain Resistant
  • Lightweight
  • Matching Stroller Straps (included)
  • Soil- Proof Colored Lining
  • Adjustable & Removable Backpack Straps
  • Top Zipper Closure
  • Detachable, Fold Out Change Pad
  • Machine Washable
  • Multiple Pockets
  • Two Side Elastic Bottle Pockets
  • Side Bottle Pocket
  • Side Cell Phone Pocket
  • Hidden Interior & Exterior Zipper Pockets
  • 18.5"L x 12"H x 6"W

The Lexie Tote by Fleurville: A diaper bag to rave about

Lt_bco_3When I first saw Fleurville's Lexie Tote ($165), I was bowled over by it. It came in one of their new, fab colors for spring, Botanical Coral. I'm happy to report that the Lexie is as practical as it is gorgeous!

Right now, it's mostly filled with Allegra's stuff (but with some toys, snacks and diapers for her older brother). And while the Lexie Tote looks much smaller than Fleurville's Mothership Bag, it still can hold an astonishing amount. You can use it as a shoulder tote, stroller bag or messenger style. I loved the two side pockets -- I kept one for my long wallet and one for things I needed to get to really quickly, like a burp cloth and pacifier containers.

Cricket & Monkey: Rocking diaper bags and celebrity baby blankets

Taylorsr_2

If you see a really hot lady and her little girl walking down the street carrying what looks to you like the most rockin' bag ever ... well, you've found me!

All joking aside, I am in love with my new Taylor Weekender bag in Skulls & Roses print from Cricket & Monkey. I was in the market for a new diaper bag after my beloved Gitta Bag met a sad end having been run over by a truck when my husband left it on the roof of our car before driving off. (No, that doesn't only happen on TV). I had also been craving something smaller since my daughter, now two-and-a-half, doesn't require quite as much cargo to just go on a simple outing. This bag arrived at just the perfect time.

Danielle Elizabeth Bags: Spread the news about these messenger bags

De_bag_shoot_4_11_07_9_medium Danielle Elizabeth Designs is a new line of diaper bags by up-and-coming designer Danielle Fyfe. And there are so many cute ones to choose from. We saw the Pink Bird Messenger Diaper Bag ($195) and the Lacy Green Diaper Clutch ($70).

These beautiful bags are 100% cotton, machine washable. The Pink Bird Messenger Diaper Bag was so roomy -- It will work from a day out with the kids or playtime at the park. I was able to jam a lot of my toddler's and newborn's clothes/sippy cups/toys and diapers inside. It can work nicely with two kids for short jaunts around town. I got a lot of compliments on the bag, too! I have to admit I've come to rely on snapping my diaper bag to my stroller, if the company adds stroller straps or a d-ring to each size (other companies are selling stroller straps that attach to other brands of diaper bags), it would work even better.

Bella Tunno: Fashion, function and philanthropy collide

Oweninsmock_2 Sometimes a company comes along with a fresh, unique take on a wide range of products, and I recently found one in Bella Tunno. Using patterns that are hip without being brash, and offering items that are needed but surprisingly hard-to-come-by (a stylish play smock where even the pockets are laminated!), Bella Tunno is a great place to visit if you're looking for a knock-your-socks-off gift without a knock-your-socks-off price tag. The company's accessory line has been included in the Golden Globe Awards baby gift bags, the Oscar Gift Basket and the MTV Style Lounge. We recently reviewed several Bella Tunno items -- the Diaper Ditty Wristlet, the Designer Diner Chalk Mat and the Laminated Smock -- and loved all three.

The Play Smock ($30) is the total package -- style and substance! Owen is very much into painting and helping me cook, so his smock (in the Wonder Boy print; See picture above-left) has gotten a lot of use already.  I'm pleased to say that it's held up beautifully. The smock is completely laminated, pockets included, and it's also machine washable. It ties at the back and at the neck, so you get a really snug fit, which I find to be a refreshing change from the traditional loose, bulky smocks that always strike me as awkward on a small child. If you know a budding artist or chef who has no interest in being a wallflower, this would make a great gift. Coco Arquette certainly thinks so!  The 3 1/2-year-old daughter of actors Courteney Cox and David Arquette was recently gifted with one, and in a handwritten note to Bella Tunno, Coco (though we suspect it was written by Courteney!) called Bella Tunno's play smocks a "great idea" that "saves my pretty dresses."

Wristlet_3 The Diaper Ditty Wristlet ($36) is a diaper clutch -- part of an emerging trend to minimize the traditional diaper bag for moms who need only the barest of diapering essentials while on-the-go. Ditties unfold to hold a travel case of wipes, a few diapers and some "mom essentials" in a back pocket with Velcro closure.  We tested the 'Animal Chic' print and found the ditty to be both fashionable and sturdy.  And the gold wristlet/loop was a nice, quirky, touch -- Our ditty is hanging on the knob of our coat closet door, just as Bella Tunno intended it to be!  Everywhere I go with the ditty, I get asked about it, and who doesn't love that feeling?

Designerdiner_3 I love the idea behind the Designer Diner Chalk Mat ($22). The Designer Diner is a wipeable playmat ideal for use in restaurants or other public settings, only with a twist -- It reverses to a reusable chalkboard, and comes complete with chalk and detachable chalk holder.  We tested the 'Ocean Breeze' design and it is absolutely adorable. The Designer Diner folds up neatly and could easily be stashed in a large pocketbook, a diaper bag, or even your glove compartment.  It's just the perfect distraction for a fidgety toddler, whether you're waiting for a meal or waiting for a traffic light to turn green.

Founder Michelle Tunno Buelow started Bella Tunno as a means of raising funds to finish her late brother's doctorial project, and although she met that goal in late 2005, her commitment to charitable giving continues. With a stated purpose of proving that "fashion, function and philanthropy can co-exist," Michelle still donates a portion of all proceeds to drug-rehabilitation related organizations in memory of her brother. Bella Tunno's products can be found in more than 1,500 domestic and international upscale boutiques, or ordered online at Bella Tunno

1154 LILL Studio Bags: When any old bag won't do!

I love accessories, bags and shoes in particular. And several years ago I was introduced to 1154 LILL Studio. The concept is simple and yet great. You select the bag shape and then the fabrics you want. The options are almost endless and in the end you have a bag that's literally all your own. The bags are excellently crafted and hold up to lots of abuse. The prices are reasonable, says the girl who pays a pretty penny for bags, and come in practical sizes that anyone could love. You can order online at www.1154lill.com or if they have a representative in your area throw a party yourself and see the fabrics in person, this is the way to go if you can, as some fabrics will wow you in person.

I threw a party back in December and ordered two bags. 1154lilldonna The first bag I bought was a Donna (left, $185), it's huge and magnificent and I wanted one so bad I could taste it. I was able to put together a bag that I think looks amazing. I used White out Branches as the main body fabric. Rosita as the top and base and Dotted Tuxedo as the straps. It has four pockets on the inside for things like phones and iPods and a zippered pocket to seal away items. It holds everything, snacks, diaper changing kits, extra diapers and all my gadgets brilliantly!1154lilldrea

The second was a Drea ($128) a beautiful reversible bag that I had tons of fun coordinating -- I came up with two different looks to balance things out. I did Walnut Faux Suede for the handle, interior pocket and top accent and Deco Ivy on the outside and Raspberry Truffle on the inside.

Baby Sherpa Diaper Bags: For the long (and large) haul

Sherpa_2 In the world of diaper bags, Baby Sherpas are the true professionals. You may feel comfortable with an amateur bag for a quick trip to Starbucks. But for that all day outing at the zoo? Or that 11 hour trip back east to see Grandma? Well then it's time to pack it all up in a hardworking backpack-style bag. It's time to reach for a real performer that was inspired by the climbers of Mt Everest.

Baby Sherpa bags were designed with some serious parenting in mind. No convenience has been overlooked. Dads love this bag too because there is a place for everything and it does not make them look like a dork who is digging through their wife's purse. They can appreciate that this bag is not for wimps and it means business, celeb dads Brad Pitt and Tiger Woods are fans. The functional features and ways you can make this bag work are almost too numerous to list, but click on the extended post for a basic tour and a coupon code.

Kalencom Stroller Straps and Quick Change Kit: Making life easier with two new products

1741_appleroyal

Kalencom makes some really great products. Their diaper bags are functional, attractive and reasonably priced.  And, I love that Kalencom products are made from environmentally-friendly Phthalate and AZO-free materials. The two products that I received are great additions to the Kalencom collection and extend the usefulness of their line as well as any other bag you might use. The Stroller Straps (lower right) allow you to turn any bag into a stroller bag. They're offered in 10 colors, so you can match them to your bag or stroller or you can just choose the colors you like.  They're easy to attach and remove, so you can leave them in place or move them around as needed.  And at $5.00 per pair, you can have as many as you want.

The new Quick Change Kit (upper left) is offered in the same 10 colors as the straps and is just as handy.  It unfolds to provide a long changing pad (12”x30”) and 2 zipper compartments, one with a wipes case.  The changing surface wipes clean easily, which is always an important trait for a changing pad.  The exterior front has another zippered pocket and a handle. When folded it is just 12”x8” and will fit neatly into just about any bag. It holds just enough to take it out on it’s own for quick trips and it makes a great back-up bag to leave in the car or the stroller.  It also makes it super easy to switch between bags or to use a regular purse or tote since it can hold all of your essentials. It's also very reasonably priced, it retails for $24.

The more children you have, the more you look for products that make your life easier and help you stay organized amongst the chaos. Both of these products can do that and at very reasonable prices which is always welcome. It is so nice to be able to ease the transition between too many diaper bags and strollers when you’re running out the door. Visit www.kalencom.com for more information on these two great products and to see what else Kalencom has to offer.

Baby Kaed Sanya Diaper Bag: As they say, it's in the bag

by CBB Guest Reviewer: Christina

Babykaedminisanya I am one of those women who love bags, I could comfortably say, without exaggeration, that I own over fifty purses, handbags, or whatever you chose to call them. Of those, Lesportsac made at least 15 of them. I loved this brand because its practical design (which included so many pockets and always the little zipper pouch) along a great variety of colorful prints. I just assumed that when I became a Mom I would get a Lesportsac baby bag. Then I looked around at what was out there. I saw that there were other options that still meshed with my style.

I have been enjoying my Baby Kaed Sayna Bag ($118), in black with fuchsia trim, since the arrival of my daughter. The material itself is lightweight and strong, and the quilted stitching reinforces the material making it even more durable. Its plethora of pockets, pouches, and compartments, helps to keep me very organized. With all the things I bring in this bag, for Sofia and myself, organization is very important, so that I am able to find everything when I need it.

Rowdy Products Croc Bowler Bag: Practical and stylish

rowdy.jpg Who says your style has to change when you have a baby? Not Rowdy Products, who is making mom-friendly diaper bags that combine style and performance. Their look is a little edgy and urban-girly but these bags are made to perform. I checked out their Croc Bowler and found it quite up to the challenge of a busy day out with kids.

At first glance the Croc Bowler by Rowdy Products looks like a petite piece of vintage luggage. The deep red mock croc is luxe-y looking and the black tassels and trim give it a polished look. The bag is a satchel style and can be carried by short handles or worn messenger style with the addition of an included adjustable, removable strap. The bag exterior is made from a low maintenance man-made material that defies rain or baby mess. Metal feet on the underside ensure that it stands alone and minimizes scuffs to the bottom of the bag.

Oyikes Diaper Bags: Bag on the Run!

SlingbackLifestyleFrostedTitanium.jpg For years I have been in search of the perfect "active day out" bag. You know what I mean. The bag that you can include in your plans for Disneyland, or the zoo. The bag that leaves your hands free to navigate the airport with a couple of toddlers in tow. It has to withstand the elements (or a ride called "splashdown") and it has to be comfortable enough to wear when you're riding a bike. It's an elusive beast, that perfect bag on the run. But I think the OYikes Slingback has done it.

First of all there is the way it is worn. With it's single strap sling style and adjustable velcro strap, the Oyikes bag bridges the chasm between messenger and backpack. It is extremely comfy, easy on the back and hands free. The velcro makes it a snap to adjust the bag, and quickly put it on or take off -- Something to consider when you are hopping on and off rides like Small World all day. The bag also fits well on a range of people/sizes.

Next there is the durable and stylish fabric. Four color choices of high quality fabric, a slightly postmodern aesthetic and boxy shape give this bag a sporty cool look . oyikes.jpg

Finally there is the multi tasking functionality. This bag was thoughtfully designed for use by busy people, and won't slow you down when you change gears or switch roles. And, it works equally well for moms and for dads. The features are plentiful and design-thoughtful. A wide zippered opening helps you retrieve what you need, fast. There is a cellphone pocket front and center on the strap, where you need it. Generous bottle pockets on the side and multiple interior compartments make it easy to organize and keep organized. Extra bits and pieces such as an optional computer sleeve, an insulated bottle pocket, wipes case, included accessories case (for cords or for kids items), and changing pad that let you customize the bag to meet the demands of your busy day.

You can even order an Oyikes bag in the 24.7 version - fully packed up and ready to go. It makes a super shower gift. Fans of this bag include and my own husband, who uses this bag every time he flies, with or without the kids.
