Snanimals Shoes: Hand-painted Animal Shoes
My 2 year old son is nuts about Curious George (and anything monkey related). We absolutely flipped when Snanimals Shoes was kind enough to send us a pair of their "Anna Banana" hand-painted sneakers ($27) with cute monkeys on them. Ben calls them his "monkey shoes". These adorable red sneakers have a hand painted monkey on the each shoe. We got compliments wherever we went with them.
While, not exactly sandbox friendly (I was afraid to get them dirty, Ben didn't mind), they held up very nicely. They were comfortable for my son and generously sized. Ben loved tooling around in them and often asks to wear them.
They have many designs, in either in a laced and mary jane style. Choose from infant, toddler, child and even some versions in adult sizes (you could do matching sneakers with your child!!). Go seasonal with their "Candy Corn", "Scary Mary" (Jane), and "Pumpkin Booties". Being that Ben is a fire truck admirer, he would also love the "Fire Truck" slides ($15). They also have hand-painted tees and dresses that are very precious. I loved the truck shirt ($12) and the cherry onesie ($12). The site also offers fun bags that can be personalized. You can even get a birthday party pack, so your little girls could decorate their own shoes ($99 for 5 kids, $13 extra for each child).
Snanimals is owned by Jane Perillo. Snanimals donates 5% of their online sales (and 20% of the cure ph line) to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in memory of her late daughter Emma. Jane told me via email, "We came to be through my daughter Emma's love for animals and shoes". You can read about Emma here.
