Snapper Rock UV Protective Clothing

Tags: Clothing

WheelbarrowSnapper Rock, known for their performance sail wear, is now making great UPF (ultraviolet protection factor, similar to SPF) 50+ sun protection clothing for infants, toddlers and kids (up to age 16).

We checked out their adorable and functional clothing. These smart zip-up baby sunsuits ($35) also double as bathing suits. They come in sizes 0 (for 0-6 months), 1 (6-12 months) and 2 (12-24 months). The sunsuits come in pale blue/chocolate/white, pink/chocolate/white and aqua/lime/white. They are lightweight, easy to get on and off quickly and leave room for that swim diaper. They are stretchy and comfortable for your babe as well as protecting their body from the sun's harmful rays.

The suits are quick drying - great for when your cutie wants to wear it the next day too! Add on one of their great flap hats for even more protection (and don't forget that sunscreen!). We also saw their rash guard t-shirts ($35) for babies, toddlers and kids- you can get short or long sleeve. Team this with a suit bottom, their water shorts ($26), or a swim diaper and your little cutie is ready to play in the sand or wade in the water.

These sun smart clothing items were designed in New Zealand by company owner Liz Eglinton (who now lives in Annapolis, Maryland with her family) and the help of a sailing design team.

Little Violet Affleck rocked the short Sleeve Pink/Chocolate/White Rash Top ($35.00) during her recent trip to Hawaii in June with her parents, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner. Best friend Isabella Damon, 1, was also seen in the same shirt here with Jen Garner and a unidentified friend and while frolicking in the surf with her dad, Matt Damon, mom Luciana, and big sister Alexia,9.

We like Snapper Rock's style. We know you will too!!  Shop at snapperrock.com or click here

I saw some kids in the Dominican Republic wearing the SnapperRock gear - seriously cool. I came home and bought some online!! Glad the Afflecks and Damons have great taste.

I like the idea of UV clothing. People are bombarded with everything about tanning. Hardly anyone tells them that tanning will produce negative results. Keep out of the sun (or at least cut the time in the sun) and watch so you don't tan. Keep your skin light. This clothing is a great idea and very useful. When your children grow up and find they don't have skin problems and look young, they will thank you for the clothing.

Yes I wish we had this type of product when we were young - I would look like a dried grape. I love the colors of the SnapperRock gear.

I just bought a bunch of Snapper Rock rash guards for my three sons, so I was excited to see that the Affleck and Damon families like them too. I feel much better knowing that they are in UV protected clothing. (By the way, I bought them at www.thekiddiecloset.com. They are having a sale right now for 15% off, so I saved a bit of money. I think it ends at the end of July.) I love this swimwear!
